Al Murr and Pakistani counterpart discuss enhancing Parliamentary relations
WAM DUBAI, 29th December, 2013 (WAM) — Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Speaker of Federal National Council (FNC) and Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of National Assembly of Pakistan and his accompanying delegation, have discussed ways to boost parliamentary cooperation and the mechanism of activating friendship committees between the two parliaments.
During the meeting, they also stressed the importance of exchanging visits and expertise to promote and support the parliamentary practices and performances for the benefit of the two parliaments and to serve the interest of both countries and peoples.
Also present at the meeting were FNC Secretary-General, Dr. Mohammed Salem Al Mazroui and Javed Jalil Khattak, Consul-General of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Dubai.
The meeting also covered a number of economic, regional, international and political issues and ways to enhance peace, cooperation and stability in the region.
The Pakistani Consul-General highlighted his country’s keenness to strengthen its relations with the United Arab Emirates. He also congratulated the U.A.E. on winning its bid to host EXPO 2020, expressing his appreciation for the country and its efforts in regional and international arenas.
