Salam: We’re going to do our best in helping refugees

November 07, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) We’re going to do our best in addressing the refugee question and garbage disposal, Prime Minister Tammam Salam, told visiting Norwegian counterpart Erna Solberg during a joint press conference at the government Serail today.

Having boarded with her the present domestic and regional developments, Salam reiterated Lebanese government position on helping out refugees amid a stalemated Middle East peace process.

Also commending the Norwegian government’s impartiality in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and Oslo’s helping out Lebanon with its reforestation and offshore oil prospecting effort, Salam saluted government, monarch and people of Norway. Also expressing appreciation for Lebanon’s hosting of a sizable chunk of Syrian refugees along with Norwegian peace-keeping tasks within UNIFIL, Solberg promised to explore enhanced donations benefiting those displaced into Lebanon and Jordan.
