OMAN LNG SUPPORTS INITIATIVES FOR CLEAN ENVIRONMENT IN SUR
MUSCAT: Oman LNG celebrated two important events in Sur on Thursday. One was the inauguration of beach clean-up materials to celebrate an agreement signed last year.
The other was a signing ceremony of an agreement to bolster the Chemical Analysis Unit in the Food and Water Lab in Sur. The agreement is a collaboration between the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources and Oman LNG to fund various items to improve the local Chemical Analysis Unit.
The lab will be run by qualified personnel and supervised by professionals from the Food and Water Laboratories Centre. The agreement was signed by H E Hamad bin Suleiman al Gharibi, Undersecretary for Regional Municipalities and by Khalid bin Abdullah al Massan, CEO of Oman LNG Development Foundation.
Following through on an agreement signed last year, Oman LNG celebrated the delivery of three beach-cleaning tractors for deployment at beaches in Sur, Jalan Bani Bu Ali and Masirah.
The tractors will be used for maintaining the natural beauty of the shores, freeing the beaches of discarded bottles and cans, as well as other litter either dumped by beach-goers or debris from the sea washed on shore.
