Media committee convenes over Arabsat decision to stop broadcasting al Mayadeen channel

November 11, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) A fresh decision by Arabsat to stop broadcasting Lebanon’s al-Mayadeen channel topped the agenda of discussions inside the Media and Telecom House committee, which convened on Wednesday under the chairmanship of MP Hassan Fadlallah, in presence of Information Minister Ramzi Jreij.

Arabsat Sattelite Company has pressed charges against the Lebanon-based channel for allegedly insulting an Arab country, shortly after the TV hosted a guest who spoke against Saudi Arabia over the deadly stampede during the pilgrimage season in the Kingdom.

The committee will also discuss a bill on media.
