Machnouk to Cazeneuve: Terrorism requires stern, collective response

November 14, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Interior Minister, Nohad Machnouk, sent a letter to his French counterpart, Bernard Cazeneuve, offering his condolences on the victims of last night’s terrorist attacks, and noting that terrorism requires a firm and united response.

Machnouk dubbed the attacks on the French capital as “vile and barbaric.”

“No country can fight terrorism alone, and as you have announced earlier from Beirut, terrorism demands a severe and collective reaction,” said Machnouk in his letter.

“These terrorist attacks harshly reveal the threats and challenges that we all face. This confirms that the battle against terrorism unites us and pushes us towards fortifying our commitment towards security cooperation.”
