Kanaan from Bkirki: For financial, social priorities, but electoral, citizenship laws precede them in importance

November 07, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Following his visit to Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bchara Butros al-Rai in Bkirki on Saturday, delegated by General Michel Aoun, Change and Reform Bloc Member, Deputy Ibrahim Kanaan, said: “We are with financial, economic and social priorities, but these are preceded by the pending electoral and citizenship restoration laws.”

He added that “the crises we are experiencing are the result of the prevailing defects, such as the presidential crisis which is a national, political calamity par excellence.”

“We are ready to assume our responsibilities in national partnership; however, we all ought to show respect for such partnership,” Kanaan concluded.
